My conclusion with our second reading is the same as yours really that the words punishment and discipline tend to carry such a negative meaning. The promises are for the future, but also reminding us that doing things to the best of our imperfect abilities will make our life now better. Hope you have a great Tuesday. See you tomorrow.

Our proverb readings yesterday and today certainly spell out the consequences for doing things in harmony with God‘s will or the world in general. The benefits now, but more importantly in the future. Simply put what we can expect now is limited and dependent on man, but the true everlasting benefits will come from God in his due time.
