Daniel provides such an amazing example of how to be a Christian in the world we live in. That it is possible to show respect and be trustworthy and honest and be appreciated by those who do not have the same faith we do. And, of course, hearing another example of how God rescues his people in a way that helps others to know that he is the one and only true God. Seeing how Darius dealt with the ones who tried to do away with Daniel it was brutal and showed no mercy.

That is a great point.

It’s also important to notice the result of the King witnessing Daniel’s trust and God’s faithfulness. The King now has seen ’the Most High God’...his heart has been changed.

I also love the story of the three Hebrew boys in Daniel. It’s a dramatic story. But there words telling the king that whether or not, they are saved from the fire. They still will not worship other gods. First, John, the reading makes me think of the important elements that show we are Christlike. My children were exposed to congregations that their false actions spoke louder than the truths in the Bible they read. I pray their hearts will soften and they will seek god
