The story and judges makes me think that God‘s purpose was to bring our Savior to this earth through the line. He promised he would. He did not take away free will he knows how we humans think and act and has allowed this time to pass for his purpose. I wonder if at the time these things were written down it made more sense to the people reading it. But for me, it is confirmation that God knows what’s going on, and he will use whatever means to accomplish his purpose for us.
